The day that we worked the jungle territory led to an additionally good witness. We were hiking to the main road to catch the bus back when we heard it zoom down the main road- 40 minutes early. The next bus was not scheduled to come for another 4 or 5 hours. So, we started the two and a half hour walk back to town. After walking a little bit, we heard a large truck coming up behind us. We joked about hitchhiking back and as the truck passed we noticed that it had a huge ledge on the bumber that we could have sat on to ride back. All of our eyes got huge watching the perfect opportunity roll by Then out of nowhere, I started yelling crazy bird sounds to try and get the driver's attention (I don't know why that's what came out!). Sure enough, he came to an abrupt stop and we took off running for the truck. Rather than have us sit on the ledge, he opened up the truck for us to sit inside.
Hooray! We got a ride! I've never been so happy to be in the back of a truck!
Some of what was in the back of the truck
Other people who also missed the bus were able to get a ride too (see the guy in the back?)
As more people got on, George helped with the load.
Hard work
Eventually, a woman got on and I was able to witness to her.
I would have witnessed to the driver too but, well.....he was looking at me like that. lol
